Rug Cleaning after Storm Flooding

After a major storm, the home was filled with over two feet of water. The family had just moved into the home and only had most of their belongings for a couple of weeks before the flooding occurred. The water damaged most of their living room and bedroom furniture and carpets.

The carpet in the living room was soiled with mud and debris left behind from the flooding. The homeowners chose to call SERVPRO's Amarillo Mold Remediation crew to clean this mess.

Our technicians arrived at the house and set up equipment, including fans, dehumidifiers, wet/dry vacuums, and extraction equipment. The crew used a hot water carpet cleaning system to remove the dirt from the carpet. They also applied an antimicrobial solution to clean out all the dirt and debris embedded into the fibers.

After applying the cleaning solution, they used a rotary scrub brush to extract the built-up soil from within it. They then rinsed off the carpet with water to remove any excess moisture and odors.

After the SERVPRO team treated the carpet heavy staining present before the flooding was no longer visible. Overall, the carpet looked like it was almost new.
