Wall after Water Damage Restored to Prevent Mold Growth

The homeowners were on vacation, and water leaked into the walls through the windows from heavy rains. By the time they returned home, their walls had already begun to grow mold.

Concerned about the health implications of living in a house with mold, they called SERVPRO. We thoroughly evaluated the damages and removed the wet sheetrock and insulation before drying out the walls.

Our Amarillo Water Damage Restoration technicians used foggers to treat the wet sheetrock with an antimicrobial agent before removing it. The moist environment provided a perfect opportunity for mold to grow, so getting rid of it was our priority.

We then dried out all of the walls using powerful dehumidifiers, which drew the water content out of the walls. We then treated all of the wall cavities with antimicrobial agents and sealed them off using sheetrock to prevent any future water damage.

Next, we replaced the drywall, insulation, and wood trim. The homeowners were pleased with the outcome and no longer had to deal with a mold problem.
