Saving a Kitchen Floor After a Water Damage in Amarillo, TX

Recently a home in Amarillo, Texas, was damaged by a large amount of water leakage from the dishwasher in the kitchen. The owners could not find the leak source and had to shut their kitchen sink off, which caused more humidity in their area. To make matters worse, mold started to build up on painted surfaces.

After SERVPRO's Amarillo Mold Remediation team examined the situation, we determined that there was a damaged pipe behind the dishwasher. The damage was caused by wear and tear over time. After we cut out the damaged portion, we could remove all of the water and deal with the mold.

Once we dealt with all of the above problems, we could keep more humidity from returning by using a dehumidifier in one room and a ventilation system coupled with an indoor air exchanger. Once everything was safe again, we were able to clean the floor and apply some stain-resistant products.

After this project was completed, the pleased homeowners sent us pictures of how their kitchen floor turned out.
