Mold Remediation Inside Walls of Amarillo Building
When the floodwaters rose from heavy rains, this building was inundated with approximately five feet of water. And while much of it receded fairly quickly, there were still pools of water inside the structure for several days afterward.
Left without air conditioning or forced-air heating system running, conditions became ripe for mold growth in just a few short months.
The moisture was enough to cause the wallboards to swell, and within the walls themselves, moisture levels were extremely high. As time passed, black mold appeared between the studs of the interior walls, making it difficult for people to use this facility to work there.
Extreme mold remediation and odor removal were necessary before workers could come back inside. And SERVPRO was called in to do the job.
Immediately after removing the damaged drywall, SERVPRO technicians set up powerful dehumidifiers and high-capacity air movers. The goal was to reduce moisture levels throughout the structure, so they conducted air quality tests inside the building.
Once a safe mold-free level was established, technicians began removing the black stains with antimicrobial treatments and replacing sections of the drywall as needed. And before too long, this building was back up and running again.
